Briggs v. Elliott Brochure / Map 2023

Historical Brochure Design Project
This year, I had the privilege to contribute as the principal graphic designer for a remarkable project - the Briggs vs. Elliott (1954) brochure map. This endeavor was a collaboration with the Summerton Community Action Group, the Center for Civil Rights History and Research, WeGoJa Foundation, and Columbia SC 63.

My role encompassed the layout, cover design, and brochure setup, synthesizing the content into an informative and visually engaging guide. The brochure underscores crucial historical sites tied to the individuals and organizations who catalyzed the Briggs vs. Elliott lawsuit, a landmark case advocating for equality in public education, and those who subsequently labored to see Clarendon County schools desegregated.

Exclusions in the brochure are limited to historical structures that are no longer standing or publicly accessible. Additional details about these sites can be obtained by scanning the included QR code. This project was a blend of history, design, and the promotion of social justice - a truly rewarding experience.
